Ok here’s my Thailand post! Hahahhaa. Quite a few days back but… here we go.
Basically I went to Bangkok Hospital and did some teeth filling by my favourite dentist Surasak!
And I also went there for a little something extra, which was to pluck out my wisdom teeth. Both at the bottom, and the wonderful Singapore dentist told me I had to pluck the one at the top too (which is at a really really odd position), though the Thailand dentist told me that the top wisdom teeth was integrated into the bone already and probably won’t grow out. Like OMG please! Even if you wanna earn money don’t suggest such things! I don’t wanna drill my bone!
Anyway the lovely dentist who did my wisdom teeth for me was another dentist (specialisation you know), called Jacinda. She’s also really superbly nice and caring and I didn’t have a single bruise or swelling from the surgery. And she really made it as comfortable and painless as possible. You know how you get so grateful to some people sometimes, that overwhelming feeling? Well I really felt that and I seldom feel it at all. Because anyway I seldom meet such all-round nice people who are professional at the same time. I really strongly recommend people to go to Bangkok Hospital… because I truly think the standards there are superb. I’m obviously not saying for every single little filling ’cause that’s only if you can afford it. However, if it’s like wisdom teeth surgery/extraction or root canal treatment with crowning.. I suggest going there.. because like everyone knows, the rates there are very much cheaper than in singapore. In fact, the cost there plus air ticket can be less than just the treatment in Singapore! :S so if you are really afraid some of your nerves might be affected or you want an extremely good job done. BKK. C:
By the way I have decided not to take a picture of my wisdom teeth.. I think they’re rotting internally because I can’t pull the blood vessels out from inside. So like.. YUCK. It’s looks gross and I might have to throw them but I don’t want to! I tried disinfecting them a little and stuff… sigh. See how it goes. I think it’s kind of because the roots are so long. They grew so much more in the one year since they started the process. Sickening.
That aside, my Thailand trip was rather uneventful. I got forced by my dad to buy some clothes so I wouldn’t be stuck with only grey stuff in uni. Hahahhha. And I didn’t get to eat very much of those good food my dad ordered till about the last day. I was drinking yoghurt from a straw! :C
Ok er… on to the next part of my post.
Fuay’s gonna have a masked party at her house soon, with the lot of us, her cousin, some of her friends and two of our old friends that I’ve missed a lot (Choon and Hwee). So, anyway, Choon will be playing the piano (yes yes… it’s musically inclined and very tame kind of party… more like a eating and games session), and she’s of dip standard so I can’t freaking wait to here. Meanwhile we had a problem which was that Fuay’s piano had broken quite badly due to the three huge statues on the poor piano! I don’t see how any piano could survive that… so I went with her to Gramercy today to look for a piano. She’ll be getting the 124 Geneva Mahogany from Wilhelm Tell. Lol! And I saw Gera’s dad Mr Pang there too. Hahahha.
I got myself a Chopin Ballades book that Choon told me to get, seeing as how I wanted to play the first Ballade in G minor.

Ah! I love ths music! Chopin is a fantastic composer. So currently, I’m practising the first Ballade, Etudes Opus 10 No.3 and No.4. C:
And one more important thing…
Happy Birthday Gera! Have a lovely 20th birthday!

Earth!

Read the above article people! It is titled
Russia to build floating Arctic nuclear stations
Environmentalists fear pollution risk as firms try to exploit ocean’s untapped oil and gas reserves.
Picture credit to www.guardian.co.uk in above mentioned article. Polar bear!
Interested now? People should really care more for the environment because it really affects us more than you can ever imagine. We’re tied to the Earth and the Earth is tied to us. It’s time to stop making mistakes. I don’t really see why people have such extreme reactions when we talk about environmentalism. No one is telling you to stop watching your television or something, but nuclear power stations in the Arctic is really going overboard.
Here are a few excerpts.
[A prototype floating nuclear power station being constructed at the SevMash shipyard in Severodvinsk is due to be completed next year. Agreement to build a further four was reached between the Russian state nuclear corporation, Rosatom, and the northern Siberian republic of Yakutiya in February.]
[...have developed submarine nuclear-powered drilling rigs that could allow eight wells to be drilled at a time.]
The damage done would be quite phenomenal. I get that people have a lack of oil and fuel now and Russia and so many other corporations and nations hope to tap on these reserves, but I feel we should be focusing more on hybrid and green technology. How long more will these reserves last anyway. There’s just too much damage done already.
["It is highly risky. The risk of a nuclear accident on a floating power plant is increased. The plants' potential impact on the fragile Arctic environment through emissions of radioactivity and heat remains a major concern. If there is an accident, it would be impossible to handle," said Igor Kudrik, a spokesman.]
It’s basically a billion times worse than an oil spill really. And I’m pretty sure it’s gonna literally wipe out most of the deep sea population.
[Last week, ministers from many Arctic countries heard scientists and former US vice-president and Nobel prize winner Al Gore say that the Arctic could be free of ice in the summer within five years, with drastic consequences for the world's climate and human health.]
It may not be exactly five years but it’s gonna be inevitable the way humans’ are continuing on with their exploitation activites.
Please read the article here for a lot more crucial details.
There are also some information stated in this website of National Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Do read it. It gives a very good summary with the necessary details for people to understand about global warming and ice caps melting.
This particular article argues about polar bears being really endangered though.
Contrast it with the WorldWildlife organisation’s website on polar bear conservation here.
I think the whole issue on polar bear endangerment should be known to most people. I think debating whether they really are being endangered or not (most things are really based on only a bit of evidence and claims anyway) is really just skirting the problem. The main issue still lies in that the climate is changing to rapidly and so is the Earth. If the polar bears are not endangered now, they will be soon when there’s no longer any ice around for them to rest on.
Why do I bother to write about this? Seems like we can’t do much about this issue, right? Not really. You can always petition. Also it’s important that people are aware of such atrocities. Cut down on some electricity. Use more green technology. There are limitless ways to help out… it’s only if you want to or not.
